Faithful Answers, Informed Response
Contribute to FAIR
Have research, writing, or an idea that could help people understand and respond to questions about Latter-day Saint faith? Share it with FAIR.
Submit written work for publication consideration or propose a presentation. Start with the question you want to address, the evidence behind your contribution, and what readers or listeners can learn.
Submissions are considered for fit with FAIR’s mission, quality, and current needs. Submitting does not guarantee publication or an invitation to present.
What would you like to contribute?
Submit Written Work
Share an article, essay, research paper, or carefully documented response to a question about the doctrine, practice, or history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You may submit a completed draft or a developed proposal.
- A clear question and a concise summary of your answer
- Relevant sources, evidence, and context
- A draft or outline, with links to supporting work
Propose a Presentation
Share the central idea you want to present, why it matters, and how it can help an audience engage thoughtfully with questions about Latter-day Saint faith.
Your idea may be considered for the FAIR Conference, a virtual conference, or another FAIR program.
- The question or problem your presentation addresses
- The research or experience supporting your idea
- What you want the audience to understand or take away
What makes a strong contribution?
FAIR provides well-documented, faithful answers to questions and criticisms about Latter-day Saint belief and practice. A strong contribution helps sincere questioners understand an issue more clearly.
- Begin with a real question. Explain what readers or listeners are trying to understand.
- Show your evidence. Cite reliable sources, represent them accurately, and distinguish evidence from interpretation.
- Be clear and charitable. Address difficult questions directly, acknowledge complexity, and treat people and differing views with respect.
- Explain your contribution. Tell us what your work adds and who would benefit from it.
What happens after you submit?
- Share your work or idea. Complete the form for the pathway that best fits your contribution.
- FAIR considers the submission. Review focuses on mission fit, source quality, clarity, and usefulness to the intended audience.
- Continue the conversation if there is a fit. FAIR may request more information, suggest revisions, or discuss a suitable publication or presentation setting.
Presentation proposals are considered across FAIR programs; they are not applications for a guaranteed conference slot. Event-specific calls for papers may have their own requirements and deadlines.
Common questions about contributing
Do I need a completed article to submit written work?
No. You may submit a developed proposal with a clear question, summary, outline, and supporting sources. If you have a completed draft, include it for consideration.
Do I need to have presented at FAIR before?
No. Use the form to explain your idea and the research or relevant experience behind it. Links to earlier writing or presentations can help reviewers understand your work.
Can I propose a talk for the FAIR Conference?
Yes. Indicate your interest in the form. FAIR may also consider the idea for a virtual conference or another program. Submission does not guarantee an invitation.
What if my work has already been published or presented?
Tell us where and when it appeared, provide a link if available, and explain any permissions or restrictions. Reviewers need this information before considering reuse.
When will I hear back?
Review timing depends on the submission and FAIR’s current needs. This page does not promise a response date or acceptance. An event-specific call for papers may provide a separate timeline.
Where should I send a personal question about faith?
