Just 6 days left to buy tickets for the 2023 FAIR Conference!

July 23, 2023 by FAIR Staff

You won’t believe the amazing opportunity we’ve got this year at the
2023 FAIR Conference. Dr. Daniel C. Peterson, the president of the Interpreter Foundation, will be there, and he’s giving a talk titled “Understanding History Backwards.” Trust me, this is something you won’t want to miss – especially since this year he’s bucking tradition and presenting FIRST instead of last!

First of all, let’s talk about the Interpreter Foundation. They’re the ones behind that awesome online journal called “Interpreter: A Journal of Latter-day Saint Faith and Scholarship.” They publish thought-provoking articles, produce books, host conferences – they’re all about fostering intellectual and spiritual growth. And guess what? Dr. Peterson is the head honcho there, leading the charge.

But wait, it gets even better! This guy and his wife were the masterminds behind the 2021 theatrical film “Witnesses,” and they were at it again with its sequel, “Undaunted: Witnesses of the Book of Mormon” in 2022. Talk about being a powerhouse in the world of film production!

Now, let’s get into the academic side of things. Dr. Peterson earned his doctorate at UCLA, and he’s got a wide array of study under his belt, from BYU to Jerusalem and even Cairo! That’s a whole lot of world experience right there. Plus, he was a professor of Islamic studies and Arabic at Brigham Young University for nearly four decades. That’s some serious dedication to education and scholarship.

But Dan is not just a scholar and academic guru. This man has real-world experience serving a mission in Switzerland Zürich back in the 70s, and he spent about eight years on the Gospel Doctrine writing committee for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Plus, he was even a bishop for a singles ward near Utah Valley University. Talk about connecting with people on a personal level! (And that’s not even mentioning all the many tours he’s given of historical and religiously significant sites!)

And, to top it all off, he’s a family man. Happily married to Deborah Stephens, they’ve got three sons and three granddaughters. Family values, anyone?

So, my friend, you really don’t want to miss this chance to hear Dr. Daniel C. Peterson speak in person at the 2023 FAIR Conference. With his wealth of knowledge, experience, and genuine passion for both education and faith, his talk on “Understanding History Backwards” is bound to be enlightening and engaging. So mark your calendar and join me there! It’s gonna be epic!

@Art – We’re currently doing some upgrades on the website. We’ve now fixed it so there’s an informational message instead of errors. If there’s something you’re looking for in the meantime, please contact us here:
