In his April 2026 General Conference address, Elder Patrick Kearon taught that Church callings are much more than assignments to fill vacancies or keep a congregation functioning. They are inspired invitations to join Jesus Christ in His redeeming work while allowing Him to refine our own hearts through service. Looking back on his first calling as a newly baptized member, Elder Kearon recognized that what once seemed unexpected became one of the Lord’s greatest tools for his growth.

I could see the Lord working through imperfect servants. . .who were striving to discern His will for those they were serving.

John Lynch, member of the FAIR Board of Directors

John Lynch is a Silicon Valley sales and marketing executive specializing in high-tech startup ventures and a member of FAIR’s Board of Directors.

John has extensive experience in missionary service and leadership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served twice as a stake mission president and multiple times as a ward mission leader. He also worked at the Provo Missionary Training Center as a teacher and trainer.

Through those experiences, John has seen firsthand the difference thoughtful preparation can make when members encounter questions or challenges to their faith. His professional experience in communication, sales, marketing, and technology, together with his years of missionary service, informs his work with FAIR.
