Evidence That God Still Speaks

Every six months, millions gather to hear messages from prophets, apostles, and leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. To some, this is just another conference; to believers, it is a sacred witness that God still speaks today.

Critics often claim that revelation ceased with the Bible, that modern prophets are unnecessary, or that faith is irrelevant in our time. Priesthood Privilege

What are Priesthood Keys?

The Lord restored the priesthood to mankind some time ago, and yet, He did not reveal the structure in which He wanted everything to be organized. There were many who had received callings and knew their responsibilities, but putting it together in a structural whole would serve to provide organization so that the Lord’s house could be a house of order.

Participate to Prepare for Christ’s Return

Elder Steven D. Shumway, “Participate to Prepare for Christ’s Return”

In his April 2025 General Conference address, Elder Steven D. Shumway taught that callings and participation in God’s work are sacred opportunities to prepare ourselves and others to meet the Savior. As he explained, “When we say yes to serving, we are saying yes to Jesus Christ. And when we say yes to Christ, we are saying yes to the most abundant life possible.”

But some struggle with callings. “Why does the Church keep piling on assignments? Aren’t callings just burdens?” Elder Shumway’s message provides an answer: service in God’s kingdom isn’t busywork—it is consecrated discipleship that transforms us into the kind of people who can meet the Savior with joy. In Peace and Trouble

The Saints in Missouri were experiencing tremendous persecution at this time. The leaders of the mob wanted the Saints to promise that they would leave Missouri by spring, and they wanted the Saints to promise it within 15 minutes of demanding that they do so. Charity: The Sign of True Discipleship

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)

Strong taught that the destination of discipleship is not based on belief or outward conformity, but transformation: to literally become as Jesus Christ is.
