Is Exaltation Blasphemous or Worship?

by Autumn Dickson

In case it was ever in question, we believe in exaltation. As I worked on this post, I felt like I was addressing a non-member even though it’s usually members who look up Come Follow Me posts. In the end, I decided to keep it that way. Even if non-members don’t look up this content, we can learn how to potentially respond to those who question our beliefs.

So let’s talk about exaltation. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Doctrine and Covenants 129–132 – Part 1 – Autumn Dickson

No One Sits Alone

November 2, 2025 by FAIR Staff

In his October 2025 General Conference address, Elder Gerrit W. Gong taught that living the gospel of Jesus Christ means creating space for everyone in His restored Church. “The spirit of ‘room in the inn,’” he said, “includes ‘no one sits alone.’”

Critics sometimes claim that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn’t truly inclusive—that its members are friendly only within familiar circles or cultural comfort zones. From the outside, this can look like cliquishness or indifference, especially when visitors or those who feel different are unintentionally overlooked. [Read more…] about No One Sits Alone

Choosing Faith Through Failure: God’s Timetable for Zion

by Autumn Dickson

Because of an extermination order, the Saints were driven out of Missouri and into Nauvoo. In Doctrine and Covenants 124, the Lord excuses His people from building the temple in Missouri after they had been driven out. An Unchanging God, Individualized Grace

by Autumn Dickson

In August of 1840, Joseph Smith delivered a sermon that introduced the concept of baptisms for the dead. People rejoiced and began being baptized for their kindred dead shortly thereafter. The Mississippi River was often the choice of setting for these sacred ordinances.

In January of 1841, Joseph Smith received Doctrine and Covenants 124 along with this instruction. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Doctrine and Covenants 124 – Part 1 – Autumn Dickson

Recognizing the Worth of Every Soul

October 26, 2025 by FAIR Staff

In his October 2025 General Conference address, Elder Peter M. Johnson taught that the greatest preparation for Christ’s return is to make our discipleship our highest priority. We do this by ministering “to the one” with compassion, kindness, patience, and love without judgment.

But who is the one? Sometimes it’s the stranger who feels invisible, like the Samaritan woman at the well. Sometimes it’s a family member carrying private wounds. And sometimes the one is us, in moments when we feel marginalized, unseen, or judged. [Read more…] about Recognizing the Worth of Every Soul

Three Truths to Transform Your Prayers

by Autumn Dickson

Context.

Joseph stayed in a frigid prison with some of his companions for four months. It was one of the coldest winters on record in Missouri. They didn’t have sufficient clothing to keep them warm; the food was scarce and rotten. On at least four occasions, the food was poisoned. They couldn’t stand up straight because the prison was too short. There was no trial because of insufficient evidence, and witnesses were intimidated from testifying on behalf of Joseph and his companions. When the Gospel “Doesn’t Work”

October 19, 2025 by FAIR Staff

In his October 2025 General Conference address, Proved and Strengthened in Christ, President Henry B. Eyring taught that times of trial and discouragement are not signs of God’s abandonment but evidence of His love. The Lord “proves” His children, not by granting ease or worldly success, but by refining them into disciples who can bear the weight of eternal life. Rejoicing During Failing

by Autumn Dickson

We are in an interesting section of church history here. This portion of history is often very difficult for some people because it calls Joseph’s prophetic calling into question…again. While the Saints were living in Kirtland, Ohio, Joseph encouraged the Saints to invest in the Kirtland Safety Society. The Kirtland Safety Society was meant to be a bank, but the state of Ohio rejected the Saints charter to form one. Instead, they utilized a loophole and made it a joint-stock company. You don’t really have to understand economics or legalities to understand that it failed. Many people lost a lot, and when we consider the fact that there are many people who don’t have a lot already, it can be easy to wonder how Joseph got it so wrong. When You Covet What You Have

by Autumn Dickson

The Saints began to flee Kirtland in January 1838 because of religious persecution and mounting debts. A majority of them went to Far West, Missouri. When July came around, Newel K. Whitney and William Marks were still in Kirtland. They had originally been left behind to settle affairs, but they had remained there longer than necessary because they were attached to their property and didn’t want to liquidate it too quickly. The Family-Centered Gospel of Jesus Christ

October 12, 2025 by Trevor Holyoak

President Dallin H. Oaks reminded the Church in October 2025 that the gospel of Jesus Christ is, at its heart, a family plan. Beginning in the premortal council, this plan unfolds in our mortal homes, and is fulfilled in eternal families through temple covenants. He taught that the family is not just a cultural value but the very structure of God’s eternal design for His children.

This vision stands in sharp contrast to the world we live in, where marriage rates decline and childbearing is often delayed or dismissed. Some scoff that the Church’s emphasis on family is restrictive or outdated. President Oaks countered with a clear witness: the family is not peripheral to the plan of salvation—it is the plan.
