The Times of Restitution Are Now

June 1, 2025 by FAIR Staff Leave a Comment

From Passive Observers to Active Participants in God’s Prophetic Work

Have you ever assumed that the Restoration was something that happened once—and now we’re just meant to follow along?

In his deeply doctrinal message, “The Times of Restitution of All Things,” Elder David A. Bednar challenges that assumption. Quoting Acts 3:21, he draws our attention not just to what God has restored, but what He continues to restitute—through us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was formally organized in 1830, yes—but that event was part of a prophesied restitution of all things foretold by prophets throughout time. And we are not merely witnesses to it—we are meant to be agents in it.

Elder Bednar’s invitation is clear: learn the message, prove it for yourself, and act on it. The Restoration isn’t only about what God did through Joseph Smith—it’s about what He is now doing through each of us. So the question is: Are we content to be acted upon? Or will we choose to act in faith as disciples in the final dispensation? [Read more…] about The Times of Restitution Are Now

“The Fallacy of Fundamentalist Assumptions” by Blake T. Ostler at the 2005 FAIR Conference

I’d like to begin my presentation (there should have been an outline that was handed out that you have in front of you). But I want to begin a bit off outline. I was amused- I was reading this morning that we have (and Chris Buttars is a good friend of mine) and he’s wondering whether he should introduce intelligent design into Utah schools. And I was thinking intelligent design? Chris is a Mormon and he probably doesn’t even realize what he would be teaching isn’t Mormon cosmology.

And I was reading another article—as a matter of fact just last night—about how the Big Bang proved this story of Genesis and I was thinking, apparently the people who read- who know all about the Big Bang have never read Genesis. (Laughter)

They Fell Back

by Autumn Dickson

This week is all about Christ and His atonement. The Come Follow Me manual recommends studying Luke 22 to reflect on the sacrifice that the Savior made in the Garden of Gethsemane. Instead, I want to read the same experience except I want to share it from the book of John. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Easter – Autumn Dickson

The Power of Gospel and Church Together: Understanding God’s Design for Our Transformation

December 29, 2024 by FAIR Staff

What does it mean to belong to “His Church”? For many, the concept of belonging to an organized religion feels restrictive or even antiquated. Yet, Elder Dale G. Renlund’s talk, This is My Gospel – This is My Church sheds light on why The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is essential to God’s plan—not just as an institution but as a transformative, power-filled support for individuals. By exploring how the gospel and the Church work in harmony, Elder Renlund offers insights that can help address both common critiques and lingering questions about the Church’s role in the lives of its members. Why does the Church matter, and how does it enable spiritual growth? [Read more…] about The Power of Gospel and Church Together: Understanding God’s Design for Our Transformation

Aligning Our Will with His: Finding Purpose and Peace through Submission to God

November 24, 2024 by FAIR Staff

What does it mean to align our will with God’s? Elder Ulisses Soares’s recent General Conference address, “Aligning Our Will with His,” offers profound insights into the nature of discipleship, obedience, and the eternal rewards of yielding to God’s will. For many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—and those curious about the faith—questions surrounding submission to God, eternal life, and following His plan surface frequently. Elder Soares’s teachings provide a rich perspective, particularly for those experiencing faith-related concerns or questioning the principles of obedience, agency, and the balance between personal and divine will. How to Find Peace

by Autumn Dickson

There is a verse in the bible that is probably one of the most quoted and appreciated verses of all time. Christ shared it the night of the Passover amidst instituting the sacrament, teaching and prophesying, and washing the feet of His disciples. He spoke peace to His disciples just a little bit before He went to the garden and suffered. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Easter – Autumn Dickson
