I Am In Your Midst

by Autumn Dickson

There is a lot of doctrine covered in Doctrine and Covenants 29. I absolutely love it. It ranges from the Millennium to agency and all over the board. There are so many things that caught my attention that are meaningful to me but alas, let’s talk about just one of the principles. Before I jump into the verse, I want to give some background to explain why it caught my attention. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Doctrine and Covenants 29 – Autumn Dickson

Are you a personal revelation weirdo?

March 28, 2025 by Trevor Holyoak

by Meagan Kohler

The doctrine of personal revelation is elevating and powerful. When I first joined the church I received profound spiritual witnesses through the Spirit that God was aware of me and loves me, that the Book of Mormon is true, and that modern prophets speak for him. These experiences left me with deep impressions about how God feels about me, his church, and his children. Less dramatic whisperings of the Spirit have guided me to others in need, helped me parent better, and pointed me to things I can do better to draw closer to God.

But sometimes I encounter church members whose relationship to personal revelation is just weird. It’s weird in the sense that something seems off but it’s difficult to describe at first. The way they talk about the Holy Ghost, for example, makes it sound more like an intrusive thought than a sacred witness of truth. We’ve all been in testimony meetings where people chuckle at the mic about how they just had an argument with the Holy Ghost in their head telling them to get up and bear their testimony. I’ve felt the Spirit nudge me to bear my testimony, too, but these jokes make it sound like the gift of the Holy Ghost is akin to having multiple personality disorder. Imagine what it sounds like to someone outside of church culture who hears you say you are arguing with God in your head. [Read more…] about Are you a personal revelation weirdo?

Ours are Days Never to Be Forgotten

March 23, 2025 by FAIR Staff

Embracing Prophetic Leadership and Our Divine Responsibilities

As we approach another General Conference, have you ever wondered what opportunities lie ahead for us as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

In his powerful address, Days Never to Be Forgotten, Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles invites us to contemplate both the remarkable early days of the Restoration and the prophetic potential of the coming decade. As he recounts the foundational miracles of the Church and looks forward to unparalleled opportunities, he challenges each of us to embrace our divinely appointed responsibilities as disciples of Jesus Christ. God Chose a Prophet

by Autumn Dickson

We are currently still in the very early days of the church where the Lord is revealing line upon line. Satan is actively working against God’s plan, and he often tries to mimic God to lead people astray. He loves to tell half-truths that seem logical upon first examination. Live Up to Your Privileges: Women, Priesthood Power, and Seeking a Better World

March 16, 2025 by FAIR Staff

A Gift of Divine Power for All God’s Children

What does it mean to access God’s power? How can priesthood ordinances shape our journey, not just for those who hold the priesthood, but for all who make and keep sacred covenants? In her General Conference address, “Live Up to Your Privileges”, President Emily Belle Freeman invites us to consider these questions in light of Doctrine and Covenants 25—the Lord’s revelation to Emma Smith—and our own divine privileges. Require Not Miracles

by Autumn Dickson

The Doctrine and Covenants differs from other books of scripture in the sense that the Lord is often responding to individual people. This can lead to some of the sections seeming disjointed as the Lord covers multiple feelings and circumstances that any given individual may be experiencing. In other books of scriptures, we get stories or sermons that were all meant to go together. In the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord is simply talking to the people receiving the revelation (most often through the prophet Joseph Smith), and it’s like a letter. He’s going to respond to many different circumstances. [Read more…] about Come, Follow Me with FAIR – Doctrine and Covenants 23–26 – Autumn Dickson

Mortality Works: Finding Meaning in Life’s Challenges

March 9, 2025 by FAIR Staff

Does Life Ever Feel Overwhelming?

At times, life can feel like an uphill battle, filled with trials, setbacks, and unexpected hardships. We may wonder why difficulties arise and question whether our struggles serve any purpose. Is there a reason for the pain we endure? Can faith help us navigate life’s toughest moments?

God’s Plan is Designed to Work

In his address, Mortality Works!, Elder Brook P. Hales reassures us that our mortal experience is not an accident—it is divinely designed for our growth. Drawing from both scripture and personal experiences, Elder Hales testifies that despite trials, suffering, and sorrow, we are not destined to fail. Rather, our challenges refine us, preparing us for eternal joy. [Read more…] about Mortality Works: Finding Meaning in Life’s Challenges
